Dear H.G. Isbill Parents,
Welcome to the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year at H.G. Isbill Jr. High School. Our goal is for students and staff to work together in an atmosphere of respect so that all students can learn and move toward becoming productive citizens in a global society. I am aware that this is an ambitious goal, but I believe that if we work together as a cohesive team of Parents, Teachers, Counselors, Administrators, and most importantly Students, we can achieve anything. The Texas Education Agency describes the relationship between our school and our parents as a "partnership" and we look forward to working together so that your students may reach their full potential.
In the nine years I have been associated with McGregor ISD, I have seen countless students from different backgrounds work hard to be successful. In our society today, with the technological advances available to them, students can reach heights that earlier generations could only dream about! We at H.G. Isbill Jr. High strive to meet the needs of this new generation of learners as they work their way from elementary school, through high school, and on to a successful life.
There are many activities outside the classroom available to our students. Band, Athletics, and UIL Academics are just a few of the areas our students become involved in throughout the year. Research indicates that students who become involved in extracurricular activities seem to perform better in the classroom, as well as in their future academic pursuits and adulthood. We encourage all students to explore different areas of interest so as to become better experienced, well-rounded young adults.
If there is anything here at H.G. Isbill Jr. High that myself, counselor, or teachers can do to help you and your child, please do not hesitate to contact us. All of our teachers have conference periods and my staff and I are available most any time to visit with you. I look forward to another great year at Isbill Jr. High, and it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Principal.
Sincerely,
Paul Miller
Principal
